Benefit For Fallen HdG Firefighter's Family Planned

Two fire companies are hosting a miniature golf fund-raiser in Harford County for the family of Lt. Nathan Flynn.

BEL AIR, MD — Two fire companies in Harford County are hosting a miniature golf fund-raiser Sunday for a family in Havre de Grace. The family of Lt. Nathan Flynn will receive 100 percent of the proceeds.

Flynn, 34, died while battling a seven-alarm fire Howard County on July 23. He was a 13-year veteran of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and was the first career firefighter to die in the line of duty in the history of the department. In addition, he volunteered with the Susquehanna Hose Company and Harford County Technical Rescue Team.

He is survived by his wife and five children in Havre de Grace.

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company are sponsoring the fund-raiser for the Flynns at Jurassic Golf & Arcade in Bel Air.

Tickets to the fund-raiser are $20 for adults and $10 for children. They cover three hours of unlimited glow-in-the-dark miniature golf; light fare; soda, water and juice; and raffles. There will be a DJ, door prizes, fill a boot and a silent auction.

Those who would like to sponsor a hole may do so for $100.

The fund-raising event for Lt. Nathan Flynn's family will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Jurassic Golf & Arcade, 331 Baltimore Pike, Suite 8, Bel Air, MD 21014.

There is also a donation page set up for the family through GoFundMe.
