9 Hurt After Bus Carrying Students Collides With Dump Truck

A bus driver and eight middle school students were hurt after a Montgomery County school bus collided with a dump truck in Aspen Hill.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Montgomery County school bus carrying middle schoolers collided with a dump truck Monday morning, injuring nine people. Among the injured are the bus driver and eight students. All nine victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Police say the collision occurred in the 2400 block of Norbeck Road in Aspen Hill shortly before 8 a.m. The school bus was on its way to Farquhar Middle School in Olney.

Norbeck Road was temporarily closed between Layhill Road to the east and Barn Ridge Drive to the west, according to officials. The Montgomery County Police Department did not immediately release more information.
