MARYLAND — Good morning, Patch readers in Maryland! Before you head out the door, check out Patch's traffic report — which covers suburban Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your morning commute on Friday, July 8.

On the Road

As of 8:45 a.m., all northbound lanes of Hungerford Drive at Mannakee Street in Rockville are blocked due to a traffic collision, according to Montgomery County Police. Drivers can expect delays and should seek alternate routes.

As of 6:07 a.m., a multi-vehicle crash that occurred around 5:10 a.m. was cleared on I-495/Outer Loop near the exit to Clark Barton Parkway in Montgomery County. Even though all travel lanes are open, commuters may encounter delays starting after the exit to MD-187/Old Georgetown Road. Delays on southbound I-270 begin after Democracy Boulevard.

On the Metro

As of 6:48 a.m., normal service has resumed on the Red Line between Friendship Heights and Medical Center. Earlier, trains were single-tracking due to a problem at the Friendship Heights station. That issue has been resolved, but riders may encounter lingering delays.

On MARC

As of 7:22 a.m., MARC Camden Line Train 842 is experiencing a 15-25 minute delay Friday morning due to late arriving equipment.

As of 6:49 a.m., MARC Penn Line Train 415 is expected to have a delayed departure of approximately 15-20 minutes due late .

DC Weather

After starting off hot and muggy, Friday's weather in the D.C. region will likely include showers and thunderstorms in the morning. In the afternoon, it will switch over to partly sunny skies with a slight chance of thunderstorms.

High temperatures will range from the mid-80s to the lower 90s, with the heat index making it feel like 105 degrees in the afternoon. There will be a 70 percent chance of rain.

As of 7:36 a.m., the temperature was 79 degrees.
