Five MoCo High Schools Rated Best in Maryland: U.S. News (ICYMI)
Two Rockville schools are rated among the Free State's best and among the tops in the country at preparing students for college.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Five high schools in Montgomery County, including two in Rockville, are ranked as the best in Maryland in ratings released Tuesday by U.S. News and World Report. Winston Churchill High in Potomac tops the list, and it ranks as the 75th best high school in the country, according to the magazine.
Among all 50 states and the District of Columbia, U.S. News says that Maryland ranks first in preparing students for college, with 27.5 percent of its high schools receiving silver or gold medals. The magazine assigned medals to schools to rank their college readiness, based on participation in Advanced Placement courses, graduation rates and state test scores.
Twelve high schools in Maryland won gold medals from U.S. News, 44 received silver medals and five received bronze medals.
