Montgomery County Health Department To Aid Families At Risk For Deportation
County officials met Tuesday to discuss how the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services can provide support services.

ROCKVILLE, MD — County officials met for a closed meeting Tuesday to discuss how the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services can provide support services to county families who have a family member facing deportation, Montgomery Community Media reports.
“It’s just a way for us to prepare practically to provide as much stability out there," council member Nancy Navarro said. "Telling people to go about their business, continue on even though we can’t guarantee anything, we’re prepared to respond.”
Navarro said the presentation outlined protocols to help Montgomery County residents, such as creating shelters for children who may be left behind if their parents are deported.

Immigration has been a big discussion in Montgomery County as of late. On Sunday, Maryland's top politicians met for a town hall forum in Silver Spring called "How the People and Congress can stop a lawless President."
