Frugal Families: Five Deals to Stretch the Family Budget

Welcome back to our weekly rundown of five local deals to help with your family’s bottom line. Since we do the scouting, we save you time as well as money.

This St. Patrick's Day week, we scoured our local sources and came up with holiday deals to save you some green. These include a spring haircut special (just for Patch readers); deals on dining out on St. Patrick's Day (and weekend); stocking up on groceries for festive dinners at home; clothing savings for the family; and getting the car in shape for spring. Remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions, if any:

1. Get a Fresh Cut (just in time for St. Paddy's Day):  beauty salon, 7009 Carroll Avenue, 301-270-3551.

Deal: Semi-Annual Stock-Up Sale, with tops and bottoms starting at $5 for adults and $4 for kids. (Bonus: flipflops are as low as $2.5o each pair when you buy 2 or more pairs).

Good through:  Hurry - Sale ends March 16.

5. Get the Car in Shape:  Precision Tune Auto Care, 8801 Piney Branch Road, 301-439-1240.

Deal:  Start getting the car in shape for spring with their special offer coupons, including an oil change for $14.90 or four-wheel alignment and tire check for $29.99.
