UPDATE: Man Rescued from Mystic Lake Allegedly Found Intoxicated, Naked in Water
First responders had to restrain the man from jumping out of the rescue boat, according to police.

Arlington, MA — Emergency crews conducted a water rescue at Mystic Lake this morning of a man who allegedly was trying to swim while under the influence of drugs.
Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan announced Wednesday that officers and the Arlington Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Lake Shore Drive at 10:35 a.m. and heard a man yelling for help in the middle of the lake. When emergency crews arrived in a rescue boat, the man was found naked in the water, according to police.

Police say the man was combative and resisted rescue efforts, and the emergency crew had to physically keep the man from jumping out of the boat.
The man, identified as a 20-year-old Arlington resident, was transported to a Boston area hospital. One police officer sustained a knee injury during the rescue effort and will be evaluated, according to police.
