Braintree Branch to Receive Priority from MBTA
MBTA GM Beverly Scott said that restoring service to the Braintree branch of the Red Line is a top priority.

As the MBTA continues to recover from the recent run of bad weather and snowstorms, the Braintree portion of the Red Line will be at the top of their to do list.
MBTA GM Beverly Scott said on Monday that restoring service to the Braintree branch of the Red Line is a top priority according to WHDH.
The cleanup for the entire transit system however, is expected to take some time. Scott said that barring another blizzard-like storm, it will take about 30 days for the MBTA to return to full, normal service.

The Red Line from Braintree to JFK/UMass was one of the hardest hit areas for the MBTA in recent weeks. On Feb. 2, a Red Line train lost power just north of the Braintree station with another train losing power between Quincy Center and Quincy Adams on Feb 9. Both times, passengers were stuck for over two hours.
Since Feb. 9, the MBTA has been unable to run Red Line trains from Braintree, substituting trains for bus service. The buses will continue to run on Tuesday.
