Memorial Mass Held in Honor of Girl Found Dead on Beach

Gov. Charlie Baker, Attorney General Maura Healey and House Speaker Robert DeLeo attended the Mass on Wednesday.

A memorial Mass was held Wednesday in remembrance of “Baby Doe,” the unidentified girl whose remains were found on a Deer Island beach in June.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Attorney General Maura Healey and House Speaker Robert DeLeo, were among those who attended the Mass at the Holy Spirit Chapel across from the State House in Boston.

Investigators have released a computer-generated image of what they believe the child looked like, but still have not not been able to identify the girl. A woman walking her dog along the beach discovered the girl’s remains in a trash bag on June 25.
