Man Killed in Crash on VFW Parkway
Police said there was a rollover crash on Route 109 at the VFW parkway.

DEDHAM, MA - A 54-year-old man from Roxbury was killed Tuesday afternoon in a rollover crash at the VFW Parkway-Route 109 intersection near the West Roxbury-Dedham town line.
At about 1:20 p.m., a 2006 Ford Escape traveling outbound on the VFW Parkway rolled over after the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The operator of the vehicle was partially ejected and became pinned beneath the vehicle when it came to a rest on the passenger side.

Approximately 25 bystanders at the scene came to the aid of the trapped driver, attempting to lift the vehicle off of the driver. Some of the bystanders used jacks to assist in lifting the vehicle.
The driver was successfully extricated and transported to Faulkner Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two of the other four passengers were transported to hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office told WHDH that a medical condition may have contributed to the crash.
The outbound lane of the parkway was closed for about three hours due to an investigation, which remains ongoing by state police.
