Falmouth Man Who Fled Crash In Stolen Kayak, SUV Sentenced
The 22-year-old pleaded guilty last week to stealing multiple vehicles after crashing a stolen pickup truck.

FALMOUTH, MA – A Falmouth man pleaded guilty last week to stealing multiple vehicles while fleeing the scene of a crash involving a stolen pickup truck. Devin Cunningham, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of larceny of a vehicle and one count of larceny under $1,200, according to the Cape Cod Times.
He was sentenced to two years in a correctional facility, with 10 months to serve and credit for time served. He will also be on supervised probation for two years.
A second suspect, 21-year-old Falmouth resident Devon Pelrine, rejected a similar plea deal and will go on trial in April, the Times reported.

Cunningham and Pelrine drove a stolen truck off the road and onto the lawn of a Dennis home in June, police said. While officers searched for the men, reports came in that two people had stolen kayaks from a home in West Dennis and were paddling across Kelley's Pond.
The men were also spotted running through a cemetery at the corner of Fisk Street and Pond Street. As police went to the area, a homeowner on Seagull Lane reported his Honda Pilot stolen. Officers stopped the Honda on Route 6 West and found the pair inside, according to police.

Pelrine's attorney said his client would accept the plea if he could serve his sentence at a later date because his mother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, the Times reported.
