• Grand jury indictment returned for attempted murder in Sandy Beach case (hopkintonindependent.com) — A criminal case tied to a June altercation at Hopkinton's Sandy Beach is advancing, with a grand jury indicting a 70-year-old Hopkinton man on attempted murder and related charges. The case briefly appeared in Framingham District Court and is now headed to Middlesex Superior Court, where prosecutors will pursue the updated felony and misdemeanor counts.
