State Police Conducting Investigation In Malden
The details of the investigation have not yet been made available.
MALDEN, MA — The police department released a statement Thursday morning regarding apparent police activity that took place in the vicinity of Summer Street and Kennedy Drive.
Public Information Officer Mike Powell said that the activity was being conducted by Massachusetts State Police in relation to an ongoing criminal investigation, as opposed to that of Immigration Customs and Enforcement.
"I can confirm that the activity was not related to immigration enforcement, and there is no additional information available for public release at this point," Powell told Patch. "The purpose of issuing a public service announcement earlier today was to address misinformation circulating on social media and to prevent unnecessary concern among community members regarding ongoing national immigration enforcement efforts."
