- Teen Killed in Bus Accident - In June, 13-year-old Shane Farrell passed away when he was struck by a school bus after he fell off his bike on East Street. The passing would be felt by nearly everyone in town, with wellwishers lining up on South Main Street to release red balloons as his casket traveled to his final resting place.
- Woman Jumps Off Route 95 Overpass - In June, a woman’s life was saved when trucks parked under the Route 95 overpass to prevent the woman from jumping to her death.
- Emergency Units Requested at SummerJam - In June, a mass casualty incident was declared after extra medical transports were needed for concertgoers who drank too much alcohol prior to entering the Xfinity Center.
- One Killed in Route 495 Road Rage Incident - In November, one man was killed after his car was driven off the road in a road rage incident. The suspect, Michael Hinds, 67, of Norton, was charged with his second drunken driving offense, motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of liquor, assault and battery with a dangerous weapons, leaving the scene of an accident involving death, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
- 8-Month-Old Dies in Eastman Street Crash - On the same June day that saw an attempted suicide and the death of Shane Farrell, an 8-month old lost their life after a car crash.
- Mansfield Siblings Die in Maine Cabin - In July, four people, including two from Mansfield, were found dead in a cabin in Maine. According to authorities, the four died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The cabin did not have electricity and the four did not shut off the generator in the basement before going to bed.

- Ex-Mansfield Resident Turned Terrorist Killed in Iraq - In June, former Mansfield resident turned terrorist was apparently killed while fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq. Ahmad Abousamra, 33, was reportedly killed after an airstrike by Iraqi warplanes in the west of the largely ISIS-held province of Anbar.
