This Week at Mystic Art Gallery

Inspired by the green month, the gallery is featuring the Green show. The Green show celebrates all things, green- spring, a greener environment, new beginnings.

With Saint Patrick's Day, the first day of Spring and Easter, March is the green month. Inspired by the green month, the gallery is featuring the Green Show. The Green Show celebrates all things green- spring, a greener environment, new beginnings. Come find out what green means to you.

This month’s featured artist is Beverly Hinckley,

Beverly is new to the art world. She was an award-winning teacher for 35 years and retired four years ago to care for aging relatives.  A sewing and quilting enthusiast, she began work with mixed media. Over the last few years she has done commission pieces for weddings, graduations and new arrivals, as well as, small wall hanging pieces, bags and coats.

For the past 10 years, she has submitted art work to the Juniper Island Arts festival in Stoney Lake, Ontario, Canada and has been very well received. Two years ago, she received a small award for being the best-selling artist participating over that time period.  One of her pieces hangs in the Chief’s Lodge House of the Ojibway First Nation in Ontario. Her original collage work utilized discarded frames, paper, rocks, wood, bones, feathers, dirt, nests, and found objects.  Now, however, she is using fabric pieces and leftovers to explore color and form and plans to expand and show in more venues.

She has exhibited her work in several festivals and fairs. The most recent ones include:

There will be a doubleheader reception for Beverly and the Green Show on Friday, March 8th from 6-9 pm.

Two of our jewelers, Louise Musto-Choate and Sarah Beardslee will once again offer jewelry making classes. Since their inception in January, these classes have been given rave reviews.  Participants have been thrilled to learn how much fun it is to make rings, bracelets, earrings or necklaces they can show off to their friends.

Silver Clay Natural Wonders Workshop

Session 1- Mondays, March 18 & 25. 6:30-9:30pm

Sarah’s class is

Earring Extravaganza class with Beads by Beardslee

Wednesday, March 13th. 7-8:30 pm

Participants will make 3 beautiful pairs of earrings using Swarovski crystal, chain, gemstone chips, and Czech crystal. No beading experience necessary.
