Listen: Retired Medford Police Chief Leo Sacco's Last Radio Call

"The honor and privilege have been all mine," Sacco said in his final transmission after nearly 30 years at the helm of the department.

MEDFORD, MA – Medford Police Chief Leo Sacco retired this month after 28 years at the helm of the department.

The Medford native and son of a local police officer helped establish the DARE program at the city's schools, oversaw the expansion of the Domestic Services Unit and the Drug and Vice Unit, implemented frequent community police meetings and created a Human Services position, according to the Medford Transcript.

On Monday, the Medford Police Department shared a recording of his final transmission. Listen below:
