Madeleine Albright To Give Tufts Commencement Speech

The first female U.S. secretary of state will congratulate the Class of 2015, and beckon them towards the future.

Joining the ranks of past Tufts commencement addressers including Deval Patrick, Meredith Vieira, and “Doonesbury” creator Garry Trudeau, Madeleine Albright is slated to deliver the commencement speech at the Tufts University graduation ceremony on May 17. Albright is arguably the most widely-recognized figure to address the graduating class at Tufts in recent years, and probably the only one who ever made a cameo on the TV dramedy series, “Gilmore Girls.”

During her time serving as secretary of state in the Clinton Administration, Albright was the highest-ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government.
