Medford High School Gets New Headmaster

Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent on Wednesday announced John Perella's successor.

MEDFORD, MA – The vacancy at the head of Medford High School didn't last long. A week after the district announced John Perella was resigning to take a job in his native Revere, Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent has announced his successor.

Paul D'Alleva, principal of the Andrews Middle School, will be the next headmaster at Medford High School. In a statement Wednesday, Edouard-Vincent said D'Alleva was the only candidate from within the district to apply for the position. Medford Public Schools also received 25 external applicants, many of whom had a pattern of moving from district to district, according to Edouard-Vincent.

"I am honored and especially excited to be given the opportunity to be the Headmaster at Medford High School," D'Alleva said in a statement. "I look forward to working alongside the Mustang Community to continue to build firm foundations of learning for all students."
