Medford HS Awarded Grant For Financial Literacy Program
The grant will help fund the school's Credit for Life Fair in April.
MEDFORD, MA – Medford High School was awarded a $2,500 grant in the second round of Financial Education Innovation funding across the state, the district announced this week. The initiative began in 2015 to provide capital to high schools to expand "Credit for Life" and financial education fairs.
Grants are funded through the Division of Banks' settlements over purported unlawful lending practices.
"The Division of Banks is proud to once again fund these grants in support of high school financial reality fairs across the Commonwealth," Merrily S. Gerrish, Acting Commissioner of Banks, said in a statement. "Learning skills such as budgeting and money management is essential for students as they enter college or the work force."
