MEDFORD, MA — A Medford pet sitter and dog walker who is facing animal cruelty charges defended himself to media Monday by claiming that he 'loves dogs,' according to multiple reports.
The man, 33-year-old Frederick Ingrando, repeatedly made the claim as he left his arraignment at Somerville District Court Monday, adding that accusation have been "exaggerated," Boston25 reported.
Ingrando, who matched with clients using the Rover app, is accused of being caught on video holding a golden retriever up by its collar, kicking out its feet, and forcing the dog to the ground, according to the outlet. He was walking a total of five dogs at the time.

He pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance, NBC10 Boston reported.
Ingrando was ordered by the judge not to have contact with the dogs involved in the case or their owners, and Rover suspended his account, according to the outlet.
