Medford Police Mourn Loss Of Retired Officer

MEDFORD, MA — A longtime member of the police department has died following more than three decades of service to the city.
Retired Officer Lee W. Enos died on Tuesday, July 7, at the age of 74. A lifelong Medford resident, Enos served with the department for 35 years after joining the force on Oct. 18, 1981. He retired in January of 2017, following a career that city officials said was marked by dedication, professionalism and a deep commitment to the community.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Enos was a veteran of the United States Air Force, continuing what the department described as a lifetime of service to both his country and his community.
The department also noted that Enos was the father of current Medford Police Officer Brian Enos. According to his obituary, he died peacefully at his home surrounded by family and is survived by his longtime companion, Nancy E. Enos.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Enos family during this difficult time," the department said in a statement. "Rest easy, Officer Enos. Your years of service and dedication to the City of Medford will not be forgotten."
