Medford Vocational Tech Offers 5 Percent Discount to Former ITT Tech Students
MVTHS welcomes former students to continue their education in the wake of ITT Tech's closure.
MEDFORD, MA – After ITT Technical Institute permanently closed Tuesday amid federal pressure, Medford Vocational Technical High School is offering the tens of thousands of students left looking for other options a chance to continue their education.
MVTHS announced Wednesday it would grant a 5 percent discount on tuition to all former ITT Tech students. The for-profit school, which served 43,000 students at 130 campuses in 38 states, abruptly decided to not offer a fall term because “actions of sanctions by the U.S. Department of Education have forced us to cease operations," according to a statement.
MVTHS is offering evening adult education classes in artistic welding, the automotive and electrical fields, cosmetology, EMR, ServSafe alcohol and sanitation certifications, nail technician, EMT, OSHA safety course, metal fabrication and web development.
