Neil deGrasse Tyson Coming To Medford's Chevalier Theatre

The famed astrophysicist will stop by the Medford Square venue in September.

MEDFORD, MA – Famed astrophysicist, author and TV host Neil deGrasse Tyson is coming to the Chevalier Theatre in Medford Sept. 12. Remaining tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $81, according to the Chevalier website.

Tyson, who has a PhD in astrophysics from Columbia University, has studied star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies and the structure of the Milky Way. He was a monthly essayist for Natural History magazine from 1995-2005 and has written 10 books, including New York Times bestseller "Death By Black Hole and Other Cosmic Quandaries" and the "Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet."

Tyson served on the 12-member commission that studied the future of the US Aerospace industry under President George W. Bush and hosted PBS-NOVA's program NOVA ScienceNOW for five seasons. Tyson is the fifth head of the Hayden Planetarium in New York City and first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship.

He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum Of Natural History.
