Teamsters Local 25 Endorses Stephanie Muccini Burke
Burke is running for re-election as Mayor of Medford.
BOSTON, MA (August 14, 2019) -- Calling her the best candidate to strengthen the community, create jobs and move the city forward, Teamsters Local 25 today proudly announced its endorsement of Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke for re-election to a third term as Mayor of Medford. Teamsters Local 25 is the largest Teamsters union in New England, representing more than 12,500 workers. Nearly 350 Teamsters members live in the City of Medford. More than 100 Local 25 members are employed in the City and more than 80 are employed by the City of Medford.
In giving its endorsement, Teamsters Local 25 pointed to Mayor Burke’s focus on creating jobs and training and educating workers in growing industries. The labor organization also pointed to Mayor Burke’s strong record on public safety, noting her unwavering support for police and firefighters. Local 25 officials also lauded her leadership in managing Medford’s budget, stressing the city’s strong financial condition has a positive impact on all aspects of life for residents.
