"Dear Mr. Watterson"
A screening of the documentary "Dear Mr. Watterson: An Exploration of Calvin and Hobbes." The Somerville Public Library, 7:00 pm April 8

Join us for a screening of “Dear Mr. Watterson,” a critically acclaimed exploration of the best comic strip ever: “Calvin and Hobbes” the ten-year chronicle of a psychotic, manic six-year old and his stuffed tiger Hobbes, who was occasionally the lone voice of reason in Calvin’s world but more often his partner in silliness. Filmmaker Joel Schroeder talks to Watterson’s fellow cartoonists to find out what made his artwork and narrative so inimitable. Schroeder also sits down with some of the strip’s devoted fans to find out what Calvin and Hobbes meant to them, and how their minds and lives were never quite the same after an insane little boy and an imaginary tiger ran from the pages of the daily paper and into their lives.
“Dear Mr. Watterson” is a love letter to a cultural phenomenon.
Where: The Somerville Public Library 79 Highland Ave.
