Up and Coming Hotspots: Historic Union Square West

Join the Somerville Arts Council and the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission through the ArtsUnion Project for a free walking tour entitled "Up and Coming Hotspots:Historic Union Square West"

The tour will be led byEd Gordon, President of the Victorian Society of America, New England Chapter, who will highlight the importance of many area buildings and sites, both in the City's past and now,as part of the revitalization occurring in Union Square. The new tour highlights many significant buildings including the American Tube Works complex, workers’ housing in Duck Village, and brick row houses along Summer Street. At the conclusion of the tour, refreshments will be served at India Palace.

The tour group will meet at the intersection of Somerville Avenue, Bow and Carleton Streets. A rain date has been set for Sunday, September 25th. The tour is free and opento the general public.
