The Independent Celebrates the Luck of the Irish
Union Square eatery and bar to serve up St. Patrick's Day specials
This St. Patrick’s Day, Union Square eatery and bar The Independent will celebrate the luck of the Irish with Emerald Isle-inspired menu and cocktail features. Opening early at 11am, The Independent will dish out and shake up the best tastes of Éire giving guests the chance for a quick escape to Ireland…sans passport.
On the culinary side, The Independent will serve traditional specials including: Irish Breakfast (two fried eggs, grilled tomato, black and white pudding, Irish sausage, Irish bacon, fried potatoes, Irish baked beans, Irish soda bread - $12); Corned Beef Dinner (boiled potatoes, cabbage, turnips, carrots and onions - $16); Irish Bangers & Mash (Irish baked beans - $13); Guinness Beef Stew ($16); and, a Lamb Sandwich (Irish cheddar, roasted garlic puree, fries - $14).
And because no St. Patrick’s Day is complete without a little liquid courage, The Indo invites revelers to clink their glasses and say “Sláinte!” with a special lineup of Irish beers and whiskey-laced cocktails like The Brotherhood (Jameson, Benedictine, Grand Marnier, lemon - $11), Chicory Stout (whiskey, chicory maple syrup, whiskey bitters, Guinness - $10) and Ceangoba Toddy (apple-cinnamon infused Jameson, Benedictine, lemon peel, served warm - $9).

The St. Patrick’s Day culinary specials will be available on March 17 from 11:00am through 11:00pm, and the cocktail specials will be available from 11:00am through 1:00am.
