• Officials identify 2nd human West Nile virus case in Massachusetts this year (masslive.com) — Somerville is now classified at high risk for West Nile virus, along with several nearby cities, after two human cases were confirmed in Middlesex County and numerous positive mosquito samples statewide. Health officials warn residents—especially older adults and those immunocompromised—to take mosquito precautions during peak season as the virus continues to be detected across almost every county.
   

• Somerville organizations awarded funding from MassCEC (thesomervilletimes.com) — Somerville-based climatetech companies Eden Geopower, Vertical Semiconductor, and Form Energy are among 18 firms sharing $27.2 million in new state tax incentives to grow clean-energy jobs and technology. The funding, through MassCEC's Climatetech Tax Incentives Program, supports facility expansion, R&D, and manufacturing across Massachusetts, reinforcing the state's push to lower energy costs and pollution while boosting its climatetech economy.
