Somerville Grand Jury Indictments: 9 Cases Announced
Nine cases with ties to Somerville were announced by the Middlesex district attorney Monday.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Nine cases with ties to Somerville are among the latest round of indictments in Middlesex County. District Attorney Marian Ryan on Monday announced indictments handed down between Nov. 21 and Jan. 16. All cases are alleged to have occurred in Somerville or involve Somerville residents.
Included in the indictments are a massage business owner accused of raping his clients, the alleged killer of a former high school football player and a suspected fentanyl dealer.

Tony Harris, 28, of Everett, was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition, possession of a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and being an armed career criminal (2 counts). Derrik Pannesi, 23, of Medford, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a large capacity weapon (2 counts), possession of a firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm where a person under the age of 18 has access, and being an armed career criminal (3 counts). The Assistant District Attorney is Radu Brestyan.
Jose Pena, 24, of Lowell, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (2 counts), subsequent offense, conspiracy to violate the drug laws (2 counts), and violating the drug laws near a school/park. Curtis Preston, 27, of Everett, was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, distribution of fentanyl, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of ammunition without a license, violating the drug laws near a park (2 counts), and being an armed career criminal (2 counts). Leonardo Silva, 18, of Everett, was charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14 (3 counts). The Assistant District Attorney is Marisa Tagliareni.
Zachary Wackman, 27, of Somerville, was charged with rape. The Assistant District Attorney is Ceara Mahoney.
