Somerville Man 'Violently Attacked' T Worker: Police
Police said the 29-year-old threw the woman to the ground and assaulted her at the Alewife stop.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville man was arrested early Monday morning after he "violently attacked" an MBTA employee at the Alewife stop, Transit Police said. Charles Mills, 29, was taken into custody around 5:20 a.m. after police responding to a report of a worker being assaulted found several people attempting to restrain him on the train platform.
Witnesses told police Mills, while seated on a bench, started screaming profanities about holding the train. He allegedly got up from the bench suddenly and attacked a female MBTA employee who was walking past him, according to police.
He allegedly threw the woman down and assaulted her while straddling her. She was able to break free and get up from the platform, but Mills allegedly "began to throw punches" at her before other employees came to help, police said.
