Somerville Soliciting For Artist To Craft Large Outdoor Mural
The Somerville Arts Council is looking for the right person to take on the task.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville Arts Council is looking for one or more local artists to create a public mural on the outside of a well-known building.
The project comes with a $50,000 budget funded by Eversource to create the large-scale artwork. The mural will be crafted on the exterior of the Prospect Street Substation Building, which is directly across from the Union Square MBTA Green Line station.
The city and Council are accepting applications online now in which they are strongly encouraged to submit examples of past work and an overview of their experience. The task is available to individual artists, teams, or nonprofit organizations. The Request for Qualifications applications are due by Wednesday, April 15 at 11:59 p.m.
