Somerville Woman Charged With Drunk Driving

The 25-year-old was arrested after she drove onto a retaining wall, police said.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville woman was charged with drunk driving after she drove her car onto a retaining wall, police said. Police responded to Porter Street around 1:30 a.m. on July 22 for a report of a black Ford Fusion that had driven onto a retaining wall. A woman at the scene, 25-year-old Kasey Citron, told police it was her car and she was driving at the time, according to the report.

She allegedly said she misjudged the turn while attempting to pull into the driveway and drove up onto the wall. She kept insisting that she just needed to pull the car off the wall and drive it into the driveway straight, but police told her it would need to be towed.

According to police, she appeared confused and smelled of alcohol. She was allegedly unsteady on her feet and her eyes appeared glassy and red, the report stated.

Citron allegedly told police she had drank "a few beers and a couple shots" and was asked to sit on the stairs in front of the house so she would not fall. Witnesses confirmed Citron had been behind the wheel of the car when it hit the retaining wall, according to the police report.

Citron agreed to undergo the field sobriety tests and was arrested based on the results. She was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and refused to take a chemical breath test, police said.
