New Asian market debuts in Central Mass
Formosa Asian Market is now open at Sudbury Crossing, located at 435 Boston Post Road.
The 5,350-square-foot market is known for its wide selection of specialty Asian groceries, including fresh produce and pantry staples.
Nearly 300 layoffs looming for Mass. employees
At the end of last week, four employers across Massachusetts announced terminations totaling 283 jobs, according to state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act filings.
Among those names are Community Counseling of Bristol County, Community Healthlink, Innovative Care Partners and Compass Group USA.
National retail chain makes Mass. comeback
The Container Store has begun what it calls a chainwide "store changing" event that will result in the return of Bed Bath & Beyond branding and products.
Bed Bath & Beyond will return to 98 locations nationwide — including three in Massachusetts in Chestnut Hill, Natick and at the Northshore Mall in Peabody.
New Italian eatery opens with secret speakeasy
Alice & Monarch will officially open at 238 Main St. in Cambridge on Friday.
The new dining experience will feature Alice, which is a modern Italian-Mediterranean taverna upstairs, and Monarch, a hidden dessert speakeasy and cocktail lounge downstairs.
Major retailer closing 150 stores nationwide
The children’s clothier Carter’s announced it would close 150 locations nationwide this year in a bid to stay afloat after being battered by tariffs.
The company has not disclosed what stores will be shuttered, but it operates 24 stores in Massachusetts.
