Man Killed In Worcester Stabbing Identified: Report

Worcester police officers responded to reports of an assault involving a knife at a rooming house on Catharine Street on Apr. 2.

WORCESTER, MA — A man who died after a stabbing in Worcester last week has been identified, according to a report from MassLive.

Worcester police officers responded to reports of an assault involving a knife at a rooming house on Catharine Street at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 2. Inside the home, officers located an adult male suffering from stab wounds, according to WPD.

The man was identified as 66-year-old Maurice Catino, according to MassLive. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said Catino was stabbed multiple times by his roommate, the news outlet reported.

At the time of the incident, police said that the victim, now identified as Catino, was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officers located another adult male at the scene, the suspect, and arrested him.

MassLive also reported that Catino's roommate was identified as Jeramy Berthiaume. He is facing multiple charges.

After the incident, police said all evidence indicated it was isolated and posed no danger to the public.
