MICHIGAN — Polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Michigan's 2024 primary elections, and Michiganders determined candidates for several key races this November. Tuesday's ballot included a U.S. Senate race and multiple competitive races for the U.S. House.

Michigan election clerks said turnout appeared to be somewhat lower Tuesday amid a rainy day across much of Michigan. More than 1 million Michiganders took advantage of voting before Election Day, as new legislation requires at least nine days of early voting across the state.

An additional 970,000 completed absentee ballots were returned as of Monday.
