CONCORD, NH — Another New Hampshire fugitive was found recently hiding out in Florida, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Joseph Nathaniel Davis, 36, a felon who was wanted on an arrest warrant due to a supervised release violation accusation, was arrested in Cape Coral, Florida, on Dec. 17, after the fugitive task force in New Hampshire received tips about his potential whereabouts.

The warrant for Davis' arrest was issued in late October out of U.S. District Court in Concord after he served 50 months in prison on a felon in possession of a firearm charge from 2017. His supervised release period was scheduled to last about three years, according to officials.

Davis, who was also known as "King Noowee," was thought to be in the Manchester area. But after being featured in early December, the task force began to receive tips that he might be in Florida.

“This information was pointing to locations in the Cape Coral area of Florida and was sent to our counterparts in the U.S. Marshals Office in Florida,” Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said. “Based on the tips received, members of the U.S. Marshals Service were able to locate and arrest Davis without incident on Dec. 17, at a residence in the 1200 block of NW 24th Place in Cape Coral.”

Davis was taken to the Lee County Jail where he is being held as a marshal’s prisoner pending a court appearance at the U.S. District Court in Fort Myers. He will be returned later to New Hampshire to face charges.

White said Davis’ girlfriend, Zika Kanani, 29, was also arrested on a Manchester Police Department warrant on a falsifying physical evidence charge.

“This warrant was issued after Kanani’s alleged recent role as a getaway driver during a shooting in Manchester,” White added. “Kanani will be seen in a local court in Florida, where it will be decided if she is ordered detained and returned to the state of New Hampshire to face these serious charges.”

U.S. Marshal Nick Willard thanked the public, press, and police officers for helping to find Davis.

“We truly value all of these tips,” he said, “and are grateful that we have such a positive relationship with so many people that help us bring these fugitives to justice.”

According to court records, back in September 2004, Davis was accused of attempted first-degree assault, falsifying physical evidence, and reckless conduct charges, all felonies, which led to guilty verdicts of the latter two in May 2006. Davis' attorneys attempted to suspend the charges in February 2009, which was later denied. In July 2016, he was accused of two felon in possession of a dangerous weapon as well as drug possession charges. The charges were later nolle prossed.
