CONCORD, NH — A Concord felon faces numerous charges after a domestic disturbance last month on Manchester.

Around 2 a.m. on Jan. 23, police were sent to a domestic call at a location the officer was familiar with due to “many domestic disturbances” in the past. A woman, the reporting officer wrote, accused Michael F. Tierney, 46, of Manchester Street in Concord, of assaulting and threatening her. She accused Tierney of striking her in the face and body, and threatening her with a shotgun. The woman shut the power off to the home and accused Tierney of barricading himself in another room with weapons, the affidavit stated.

Police and state troopers surrounded the home while the reporting officer interviewed the complainant, who was upset and crying. The initial incident occurred due to an argument about vehicle keys, she said. She said she was repeatedly assaulted and then, Tierney “grabbed a wooden, classic sawed-off shotgun and pointed at her,” an affidavit stated.

“Do you want to die?” she accused Tierney of asking, while pointing the gun at her, the report said.

A few seconds later, Tierney put the gun down, allowed her to grab some belongings, and she left, the affidavit said. She also accused Tierney of using crack cocaine or cocaine earlier the evening.

The officer noted a scrape on the woman’s cheek, the report stated.

A state trooper called Tierney and asked him to surrender and he did. He was initially charged with simple assault.

During questioning, Tierney denied any physical altercation with the woman, an affidavit stated. After being placed in a cell, the reporting officer accused Tierney of saying he was going to “lose his s---” and he “began banging his head off the doors of the booking cell.” He was removed and taken to the county jail.

Detectives requested and were granted a search warrant of the home and found the shotgun, a Stoeger Gaucha-16A Uplander 410 gauge, the affidavit stated. It was not loaded, police noted, and no ammunition was found. They also found eight large knives-machetes and a sword, the report said.

Police then added two felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence-criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and reckless conduct-deadly weapon charges, all felonies, to Tierney's docket.

Tierney is a felon due to narcotics and larceny charges out of Connecticut from 2006, the report stated, although superior court records show a felony habitual offender conviction in 2002 in New Hampshire.

Also, on Feb. 16, Tierney was arrested and charged with four counts of stalking, four counts of violation of a protective order, and a single felony witness tampering; induce another charge after incidents in Boscawen on Feb. 4, Feb. 10, and Feb. 11. He was also charged with two felony controlled drug act: acts prohibited charges on Feb. 24, based on an incident in Pittsfield on May 30, 2021.

According to posts on Patch, Tierney has been arrested on domestic violence, assault, criminal threatening, and breach charges as well as warrants several times since 2015.
