Breaking: Officers were sent to Shaker Road for a domestic disturbance. Cops accuse Richard Murray of threatening a man, assaulting a woman.
CONCORD, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous charges after a domestic disturbance reportedly involving a handgun and threats on Shaker Road on the east side on Friday. Richard Murray, 66, of Shaker Road in Concord, was arrested on May 24, 2019, and charged with criminal threatening against a person with a firearm, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon-firearm, and domestic violence-reckless conduct with a deadly weapon-firearm, all felonies. He was also charged with simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault.
At just after 9 a.m. on Friday, officers were sent to Shaker Road, just north of Pekoe Drive, for a report of a domestic disturbance. Responding officers met with a man and woman who had fled the home on foot. They alleged that a man at the home had discharged a firearm during the disturbance, according to Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the Concord Police Department.
“Investigators concluded that there was an argument inside the home between Mr. Murray and the two victims,” Ford stated. “At one point, Mr. Murray produced a handgun and pointed it at the male victim and threatened to kill him. He then physically assaulted the female victim. At some point during the altercation, he discharged the handgun outside of the residence in close proximity to the female victim.”
