CONCORD, NH - Robert A. Reid, 53, of Minery Road in Loudon, was arrested at 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 30, 2016, for driving while intoxicated, two counts of failure to use required signals, and yellow line violation. A detective on North State Street observed a Hyundai Elantra reportedly pull a U-turn in the middle of the street to head south. The detective followed and reportedly observed the car applying its brakes heavily and not making a turn signal onto Thompson Street. The detective and an officer spoke with the driver and a passenger. The passenger allegedly stated that they had both been drinking at Penuche’s, had left, and were heading to The Draft to drink more, according to the report. The driver – Reid – allegedly became hostile saying he was stopped for no reason but reportedly admitted later he had made an illegal U-turn, according to the report. After a field sobriety test, he was arrested. Reid allegedly called the detective names and swore during transportation. “(He) told me that he would have my badge and that we would see what the judge had to say about this,” according to the report. During processing, he allegedly taunted the detective and made a crack about his father, according to the report. Reid is due in court on Feb. 25.
