Concord Police Log: Man Arrested for Pushing, Spitting on Stepfather

Plus, thrown hamburger assault charges, man charged for drinking at Market Days, allegedly smoking pot at McDonald's leads to arrest.

Rodney James Moody, 45, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 1:44 p.m. on June 25, 2015, on a bench warrant. While covering the Market Days Festival, officers ran into Moody on Pleasant Street and requested a warrant check. Dispatch found that he had an active warrant issued on June 23, for nonappearance in court. Police caught up with him outside of the Concord Food Co-op and he was arrested. “Moody was extremely rude, disrespectful, and uncooperative throughout my encounter with him on this date,” the officer alleged. He’s due in court on July 8.

James M. Mooney, 59, of Storrs Street in Concord, received a summons at 1:39 p.m. on June 25, for possession of alcoholic beverages on public property after allegedly being caught drinking alcohol from a reusable water bottle during the Market Days Festival. The sergeant and officer were tipped off to Mooney who allegedly had run into some people and appeared to be intoxicated while at the intersection of North Main and Pleasant streets. They gave him a summons for July 27.

Felicia Sweatt, 29, of King Street in Boscawen, was arrested at 10:50 a.m. on June 24, for felony receiving stolen property and a bench warrant out of Concord District Court for nonappearance in court on a simple assault charge. The stolen property charge was from Aug. 8, 2014, at a Concord Street apartment. Sweatt is due in court on Aug. 3.

Tara Savory, 30, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 10:03 a.m. on June 23, for possession of controlled drugs. Officers driving past the McDonald’s Restaurant on South Main Street saw a group of individuals hanging out in the back of the parking lot. The reporting officer recalled that the manager had expressed concerns about the loitering in the past. The officers approached the area and could “smell a very strong odor” of marijuana. A woman, Savory, was allegedly holding a marijuana cigarette in her hand and attempted to hide it, according to the report. She was arrested and is due in court on July 27.

Richard E. Hewey, 24, of Village Street in Penacook, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. on June 14, for false inspection or registration sticker from April 17, 2015, on Loudon Road. An officer on patrol noticed a black pickup truck parked at the intersection of Rumford and Pleasant streets that had its front end sticking out into the westbound travel lane impeding traffic. Just behind the truck, there was a clearly marked “no parking sign,” according to the report. The officer approached the driver, Hewey, who was stacking newspapers. He was asked for his driver’s license and registration and reportedly stated that “he had neither” and “wasn’t sure” where they were. “Having dealt with Richard numerous times, I was able to confirm who he was without an ID,” the officer wrote. When told he was illegally parked, Hewey reportedly told he officer that he was the only one on the road and was only parked for a few minutes. However, he had an active warrant and was arrested. He’s due in court on July 20.

Heidi L. Calley, 44, of Concord Gardens in Concord, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. on June 10, for criminal mischief. Officers were sent to an apartment at the Gardens for “yelling and crashing sounds.” While outside, the reporting officer hear a loud thud. After knocking on the apartment door, Calley answered and was allegedly “obviously frustrated and yelling” because her son was “being disrespectful towards her,” according to the report. “Heidi was incredibly irritated and clearly intoxicated,” the report alleged. “Heidi told me that she was arguing with (her son) who was upstairs in his room.” The son reportedly told officers that his mother had allegedly been drinking vodka and “was being extremely irritable.” He said he was trying to sleep and she was allegedly banging on his bedroom door, yelling obscenities, and threatening to get rid of his cats. He refused to open the door and this only “infuriated her,” according to the report. Calley allegedly started hitting his door and broke it open while continuing to argue. He filled out a statement and Calley was arrested. She’s due in court on July 20

Jason C. Potter, 29, of North Main Street in Rochester, was arrested at 10:40 a.m. on June 5, for unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle and driving after revocation or suspension from an incident on May 8, 2015, on Summer Street in Penacook involving a Mazda Protégé. Potter was arrested by Derry Police and brought back to Concord. He’s due in court on July 13.

Brian Richards, 42, of North State Street in Concord, was arrested at 8:12 a.m. on May 24, for suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension after a traffic stop on Loudon Road after making a wide right turn into the left hand travel lane from the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot. According to DMV, his license was suspended for cancelation of insurance on May 15. He was convicted of operating after suspension in September 2013 and operating after revocation in August 2013.

Roman Cornelius, 26, of Electric Avenue in Concord, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. on May 20, for possession of controlled drugs and missing person. A tenant at the Kennedy Apartments on Thompson Street reported a man sleeping in the lobby of the building. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke to the man, Cornelius, who reportedly said he didn’t live in the building but was cold and decided to sleep in the lobby. Cornelius reportedly told the officer that he had walked from his home in Penacook earlier. A check yielded information that showed that Cornelius had been missing since May 19, and was logged into the NCIC and was supposed to be supervised. He was taken into custody and during a pat down, an officer allegedly found a glass smoking device and a baggie of marijuana.

Ashley Bradicich, 29, of Pine Street in Manchester, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. on May 14, on a bench warrant. Police went to Concord Hospital for a report of an escaped mental health patient from Five West walking out to a vehicle in the parking lot. A check of the vehicle plate yielded an apartment on Pinehurst Street. The officer spoke with a staffer who witnessed the woman, Bradicich, allegedly sneaking out of the hospital and into the vehicle. The officer went to Pinehurst and saw the vehicle pull up. The officer spoke to Bradicich and arrested her for having a bench warrant from March 19, out of Manchester District Court for driving after suspension for DWI, $1,000 cash bail.

Nicholas A. Newton, 31, of Stewart Avenue in Claremont, was arrested at 7:09 p.m. on May 11, for simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault. Officers were sent to an apartment on Loudon Road for a domestic dispute with a man on foot in the area. The man, Newton, flagged police down in the parking lot of Arnie’s. The man alleged that the mother of his child had been drinking heavily and he went to the apartment to retrieve some belongings. The woman kept yelling at him, knocked a pan to the floor, and he grabbed his phone and left. While he was leaving, the woman stated that she would lie to police about the incident, Newton alleged. He denied any physical contact with the woman. Two other officers were speaking with the woman who was “having trouble breathing and speaking” and “crying uncontrollably.” She and Newton were arguing about the living arrangements and she went outside to calm down. When she returned, Newton allegedly threw a piece of ground beef at her, hitting her in the chest and causing ketchup stains to her sweatshirt. Newton was then arrested. On May 15, the woman submitted a written statement the officer recanting her previous verbal testimony.

Dylan P. Walsh, 28, (pictured) of Concord, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. on April 30, on two counts of simple assault, two counts of domestic violence-simple assault, and criminal trespass. Officers and detectives were called to Hanover Street for a complaint involving a shirtless man and in a sedan. While heading out of police headquarters, another officer stopped the man, Walsh, on North Spring Street with his grandfather. According to the grandfather, he was asked to pick up Walsh who was allegedly acting up and refused to leave the Hanover Street address. He was allegedly “yelling, acting aggressively,” and later, spit in his stepfather’s face. Walsh reportedly had mucus on his face and denied that the incident was physical. Detectives, however, heard another story on Hanover Street, with a man alleging that Walsh pushed him and spit on him during an argument. The man alleged that Walsh was asked numerous times to leave but refused. A witness who was a neighbor reportedly witnessed Walsh yelling and spiting and described the altercation that it was like “he almost witnessed a murder.” Walsh’s mother reportedly confirmed that the two were arguing. Walsh was later arrested.
