Elderly Man Dies After North Country Crash: New Hampshire State Police Roundup
Plus: Orford man faces sexual assault charges; drunken driving arrests, blotters, and more.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating another fatal crash in the state, this time, on Route 16 in Pinkham’s Grant.
Around 6 p.m. Saturday, troopers were sent to a crash report involving a 2018 Chevy Cruze and a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban near East Side Road. According to Tyler Dumont, a department public information officer, the Cruze driver, Mark Taillon of Gorham, was driving north when he crossed the double yellow line and struck the Suburban, which was being driven by Peter Canty, 77, of Jackson.
“Canty was pronounced deceased on the scene,” he said. “Taillon suffered minor injuries.”

The department’s collision analysis and reconstruction unit was sent to investigate. They were assisted by Gorham police, Gorham and Jackson firefighters, the NH DOT, and the office of the chief medical examiner.
“All aspects of the crash remain under investigation,” Dumont said.

Teen Arrested On Sexual Assault Charges
A man from Orford is facing charges after reportedly sexually assaulting a girl.
Noah Schwarz, 19, was arrested on Oct. 25 on a felony aggravated felonious sexual assault and two sexual assault charges. He was arrested after troopers received a report three days before and investigated the allegations. Schwarz was held in the Grafton County House of Corrections and was scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 28 in Lebanon District Court.
The investigation is ongoing, Dumont said in a statement.

Roger Anthony Barham, 66, of Fremont, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. on Oct. 14 on DUI and speeding: 16 to 20 mph over 65 limit charges as well as lane control and open container violations in Exeter.
Mark W. Tryon, 48, of Laconia, was arrested on a DUI charge at 3:58 p.m. on Oct. 14 in Portsmouth.
Abby Rose Whiting, 30, of Rochester, was arrested at 10:40 a.m. on Oct. 14 on driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent and operating without a valid license charges as well as resident-fail to obtain a New Hampshire license in Dover.
Aravind Mutte, 26, of Nashua, was arrested at 10 p.m. on Oct. 13 on a driving under the influence charge as well as yellow-solid line, lane control, failure to dim lights, tail lamp and reflectors, and open container violations in Barrington.
Brian J. Schneider, 69, of Dover, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. on Oct. 12 on a DUI charge as well as yellow-solid line and lane control violations in Greenland.
William Silva Reggiani, 28, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was arrested on a DUI charge at 11:17 p.m. on Oct. 12.
Jonathan J. Gutierrez-Figueroa, 27, of Sanbornville, was arrested at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 on stalking-domestic violence and speeding: 16 to 20 mph over 65 limit charges in Rochester.
James Miller, 41, of Weare, was arrested at 8:26 p.m. on Oct. 11 on a DUI charge and a yellow-solid line violation in Raymond.
Rosemary Jacinta Landry, 53, of Acton, Maine, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. on Oct. 11 on driving after revocation or suspension, driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent, and speeding: 25-plus mph over 65 limit charges as well as a lane control violation in Greenland.
Mason A. Almquist, 20, of North Berwick, ME, was arrested at 7:46 p.m. on Oct. 10 on driving after revocation or suspension, driving without giving proof, driver’s license prohibitions, and speeding: 25 mph over limit of 55 or less charges in Hampton.
Edwin Lainez Diaz, 29, of Dover, was arrested on a bench warrant at 4:08 a.m. on Oct. 10 in Dover.
April Killy Waterhouse, 33, of Silver Lake, was arrested at 1:57 a.m. on Oct. 10 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and a suspension of vehicle registration violation in North Hampton.
Euller Martin De Oliveira, 23, of Lowell, MA, was arrested on an operating without a valid license charge in Hampton Falls at 7:23 p.m. on Oct. 9.
