Fatal Crashes In Dorchester, Peterborough: NH State Police Roundup
Tri-city "DUI saturation patrol" leads to 69 stops and 8 arrests; apartment building explodes, man arrested for arson; blotters; more.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police investigated two fatal crashes in the state last week.
On Thursday, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit was requested to assist Peterborough police after a crash on Route 101.
Around 7:30 p.m., in the area of Union Road, a 2006 Toyota Camry, that was driving east, cross into the westbound lane and collided with a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A woman died during the crash while two other adults were seriously injured.

The name of the victim has not been released.
On Route 118 in Dorchester on Wednesday, around 4:30 a.m., state troopers were sent to a single-vehicle crash.

A 2018 Toyota Highlander was traveling south when it drifted off to the west side of the highway, struck an embankment, became airborne, and landed on the driver’s side of the SUV.
Alexandra Paige Sutfin Vanzandt, 26, of Canaan was given medical treatment at the scene but later died.
DUI Patrol In Strafford County
State police teamed up with officers from the Barrington and Rochester police departments for a “DUI saturation patrol” on Aug. 27 in the tri-city area.
During the patrol, 69 vehicles were stopped, 59 warnings were issued, 10 citations for driving infractions, and eight arrests were made, according to state police.
Those arrested included:
- Brian Royce, 42, of Barrington for driving under the influence of liquor and speeding charges and a solid line violation.
- Jesse E.X. Davis, 41, of South Berwick, Maine, on an operating after revocation or suspension-subsequent charge.
- Joh P. Laflesh, 33, of Rochester on a capias warrant out of Strafford County Superior Court and two electronic bench warrants.
- Alan Charles, 35, of Lebanon, ME, on a reckless operation charge.
- Michael J. Demeritt, 42, of Farmington on transportation of controlled drugs and control of a premises-vehicle where controlled drugs are kept charges.
- Jason L. Brewer, 39, of Milton Mills on possession of controlled drugs with intent to sell and falsifying physical evidence.
- A 17-year-old from Farmington on an operating without a valid license charge.
- A 17-year-old from Portsmouth on a reckless operation charge.
State police said, during the patrol, a trooper saw a 2011 Ford Explorer in Rochester driving erratically and stopped the vehicle. Demeritt and Brewer were accused of being in the vehicle. During the stop, troopers accused Brewer of throwing a bag suspected of containing illicit drugs in a wooded area.
A K-9, “Kaiser,” and a trooper conducted a search and found the bag, which contained 100 grams of suspected fentanyl, with a street value of $10,000, the report said.
Additional charges may be filed in the case, state police said.

Apartment Explosion Leads To Arson Charge

State safety officials investigated an apartment explosion and fire at a Lebanon apartment building on Aug. 28.
Around 1:15 a.m., fire and rescue teams were sent to Meadowbrook Village for a building fire with an explosion. Firefighters, when they arrived, found heavy fire coming from a maintenance building. Firefighters from Lebanon, Hanover, Enfield, Canaan, as well as Hartford, Norwich, and Woodstock, Vermont, all assisted.
Investigators quickly determined the fire was intentionally set and, with the help of Lebanon police, identified Michah Bouton, 37, of an unknown address, as a suspect. He was arrested on Aug. 28 by Hartford VT police and was held for extradition.

Nicholas Bonzagni, 34, of York, Maine, was arrested at 10:54 p.m. on Aug. 18 on a driving under the influence charge in Hampton.
Aaron Louis Doucette, 40, of Milton was arrested at 7:33 p.m. on Aug. 15 on felony possession of methamphetamine and driving after revocation or suspension charges in North Hampton.
Tyler D. Hayden, 23, of Woburn, Massachusetts, was arrested at 5:54 p.m. on Aug. 15 on a reckless operation charge in Hampton.

Alison Smith, 30, of Malden, MA, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. on Aug. 21 on a reckless operation charge in Windham.
Claude J. Wingfield, 53, of Manchester was arrested at 1:46 a.m. on Aug. 20 on a driving under the influence charge in Manchester.
Christine M. Clark, 24, of Pelham was arrested at 12:33 a.m. on Aug. 20 on aggravated DUI-30+ mph, DUI, and speeding-25+ mph over 65 limit charges in Londonderry.
Ryan M. Leblanc, 32, of Londonderry was arrested on a warrant at 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 20 in Londonderry.
Michael D. Lewis, 46, of Shrewsbury, MA, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. on Aug. 19 on a reckless operation charge in Nashua.

Paul Vyizigiro, 19, of Manchester was arrested at 10:33 p.m. on Aug. 20 on DUI, DUI-adult greater than 0.08; minor more than 0.02, transport alcohol by a minor, and unlawful possession-intoxication charges in Hooksett. A 22-year-old Manchester man was taken into protective custody.
Luis Antonio Guaman-Acosta, 22, of Brockton, MA, was arrested at 7:05 a.m. on Aug. 20 on an operating without a valid license charge and a driving on a divided way; crossing a median violation in Warner.
Sean McAllister, 41, of Bedford was arrested at 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 20 on a DUI charge in Canterbury. A 40-year-old Manchester man was taken into protective custody.
Adam Daniel Zippin, 35, of Concord was arrested at 12:16 a.m. on Aug. 20 on a DUI charge in Hooksett. A 33-year-old Pembroke woman was taken into protective custody.
Randy W. Nadeau, 39, of Belmont was arrested at 8:27 p.m. on Aug. 28 on a DUI charge in Concord.
Brandon R. Huff, 43, of Wilmot was arrested on two bench warrants at 4:47 p.m. on Aug. 18.
Keith David Shearer, 51, of Reading, MA, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. on Aug. 16 on a reckless operation charge in Hopkinton.
Brian Paul Burgess, 45, of Claremont was arrested at 4:35 p.m. on Aug. 16 on a DUI charge in Hopkinton.
