According to Sgt. Chris Remillard of the Dunbarton Police Department, both Goffstown and Dunbarton officers were sent to a report of a hit-and-run incident involving a mailbox on Twist Hill Road. The property owner reportedly followed the vehicle into Goffstown and back into Dunbarton where the vehicle reportedly crashed while pulling into a driveway on Montalona Road.

“(The) on scene investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Laura Fortin, a homeless woman from Concord, was intoxicated,” Remillard alleged. “After Fortin was taken into custody by Dunbarton Police, she assaulted a Dunbarton Police Officer by throwing her shoulder into his chest.”
Her vehicle sustained “extensive damage” and was towed from the scene. She was also transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections and held on $2,500 cash bail. Fortin was arraigned yesterday and is currently being held on cash bail pending a trial management conference.
