Hopkinton Man Charged With Drug Sale Resulting in Death
Wyatt Keene is accused of selling drugs to a man who overdosed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Concord in March.

CONCORD, NH — A Hopkinton man is facing felony drug charges after two different incidents in March — including one which led to a fatal overdose at a Concord hotel.
Concord police arrested Wyatt Keene, 27, of Hopkinton on Monday on drug sale; death resulting and falsifying physical evidence charges, both felonies. He also has an active felony controlled drug: acts prohibited case out of Hooksett from earlier this year.
According to police, on March 10, officers and fire and rescue teams were sent to the Fairfield Inn by Marriott on Gulf Street for a report of an overdose. When they arrived, they found a man alone and dead in his hotel room, according to Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department.

"After a lengthy investigation," he said, detectives identified Keene as a suspect "in this case who is believed to have sold the adult male victim the illicit drug that caused his death."
An arrest warrant was issued for Keene and he was found in Alton with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Thomas said. Keene also had other active warrants — including a warrant for failure to appear in Merrimack County Superior Court from the Hooksett case.

In that March 5 incident, a Hooksett police officer patrolling the parking lot of the Walmart on Commerce Drive came upon a Toyota Corolla with two occupants inside around 12:45 a.m.
While approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, the officer accused Keene of "frantically twisting left and right" and placing his hands over his face. During questioning, the report said, Wyatt apologized for his behavior, said he had problems lowering the car window, was looking for his keys, and was nervous. Later, he admitted he was not "too fond of police" because "it always ends badly," the report stated.
Keene admitted to just getting out of rehab for alcohol and heroin, admitted to being in possession of a pocket knife, and a single pill, the prescription drug Zoloft, the affidavit said. A check of the pill though, the officer wrote, showed it to be oxycodone. Keene was arrested and while being taken into custody, was accused of admitting to "self-medicating." He refused bail and was arraigned March 5 and later released.
According to court records, Keene failed to appear at a dispositional conference on July 20 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was picked up by Concord police on Aug. 11. The court also stated he failed to attend another hearing on Sept. 21 and another warrant was issued against him.
Keene is scheduled to be arraigned in superior court Tuesday.
