Man From Concord Sent To Prison After Raping, Taking Pictures Of Young Girls In 2022 And 2023: Follow-Up
Jonathan Shaw of Concord pleaded guilty to sexual abuse images and sexual assault charges and was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison.

CONCORD, NH — After two and a half years of court filings and hearings, a child rapist is now to prison for a long time.
Jonathan Michael Shaw, 31, formerly of Loudon Road in Concord, was sentenced to 15-to-30 years in prison on Thursday for raping two girls, 9 and 10 at the time of the incidents, and taking pictures of them.
Initially, Shaw was charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and a single count of felonious sexual assault, all felonies, after police began investigating claims by two girls in July 2023 that he sexually assaulted them and took pictures of them naked during incidents in Concord and Goffstown.

A one-party intercept call led to Shaw being recorded by investigators, at first denying the claims by the girls, but later admitting he had raped the girls.
“I'm a very sick person,” he said. “Whatever they say, just take it, just … anything they say. Just take it.”

Later, he was recorded saying, “Why would they make anything up?”
Toward the end of the call, Shaw called himself “a sociopath,” and said, “I did it.”
The investigation led to more charges against Shaw, and they ballooned from five to 22: one count of child endangerment; seven counts of child sexual abuse image-possession; seven counts of manufacturing child sexual abuse images; two counts of witness tampering-inducing another; two counts of felonious sexual assault; and three aggravated felonious sexual assault counts. The new incidents dated back to July and December 2022. He was indicted on all 23 counts in October 2023.
According to court documents, five of the photos were of one of the victims.
In July 2024, Shaw’s attorney attempted to have the charges mediated, but a prosecutor said the evidence and admissions were so overwhelming, they were ready to proceed to trial.
In November 2024, Shaw sought bail, arguing his state of mind had improved and he was not a danger to himself or the public, but the court denied the request. A motion to reconsider two weeks later was also denied.
Several trial dates were set, including February and August 2025, as well as Feb. 9. But two weeks later, Shaw agreed to a capped plea deal on single counts of witness tampering and manufacture, and two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault charges. He was sentenced to two 15-to-30-year sentences, with 959 days of confinement credit. Shaw was also sentenced to 10 to 20 years for the manufacture charge, and three-and-a-half to seven years on the tampering charge, both of which were suspended for 20 years.
