Massachusetts Driver Clocked At 129 MPH On I-93: State Police

CONCORD, NH — A Massachusetts man was arrested on Sunday after state police accused him of driving erratically and speeding on the southbound side of Interstate 93. Joseph M. Roman, 31, of Upton, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with reckless operation. At about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, New Hampshire State Police were notified of "multiple complaints" about a small group of BMWs "traveling erratically and at high rates of speed" between Plymouth and Northfield.

A short time later, a trooper from Troop D reported seeing a 2011 BMW Series 1 coupe with a Massachusetts plate "weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed" in the area of mile marker 48.

A digital readout from a speed gun showed Roman driving 129 mph in a 70 mph zone, according to Staff Sgt. William Graham of Troop D.

Roman was pulled over in Canterbury and arrested. He was transported to Concord, processed and released on personal recognizance bail. Roman is due in Concord District Court on July 26.
