Justin M. Lerra, YOB 1990, of Mast Road in Manchester, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. on March 4, 4017, for felony theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and a bench warrant. On Oct. 22, 2016, an officer was sent to BAM on Fort Eddy Road for a past tense theft. A store employee alleged that a suspect came into the store, headed straight to the electronics aisle, and reportedly began removing security wraps from a $250 drone. The suspect then allegedly walked to the café area and fled the store into an awaiting Toyota Corolla. An employee gave chase and took a license plate down. The plate, according to an affidavit, was registered to a Bedford resident, so the officer called police in that community in an effort to get a phone number for the owner of the vehicle. The officer then called the owner of the vehicle and shared a description of the suspect. The owner of the vehicle reportedly stated that the suspect matched the description of his daughter’s boyfriend – Lerra. The officer called Bedford Police back, requested a booking photo of Lerra, and although he didn’t have facial hair in the mugshot, “the suspect looked just like him,” the affidavit alleged. The officer then spoke with the daughter and she stated that Lerra allegedly asked for a ride to Bam, went into the store, and then came running out with the box, yelling at her to drive from the scene, according to the affidavit. A check of Lerra’s record showed two prior convictions for theft in Manchester District Court, so the charge was elevated to a felony and the warrant issued.
