One Fatality Confirmed on Concord Street

Overdose incident in the South End on Saturday is being investigated as an untimely death and potentially opioid-related.

CONCORD NH — Concord Police have confirmed that the department is investigating an overdose death on Concord Street on April 8, 2017. Concord Fire and Rescue teams as well as police were called to the home near South Street for a report of “multiple overdoses” at around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday that was later confirmed to be two overdoses. One man was transported to Concord Hospital.

Limited information is available about the investigation beyond confirmation by police that there were overdoses and they were likely opioid-related.

As noted by Concord NH Patch on Saturday, officers have been sent to the home numerous times during the past few years, arresting the homeowner on second-degree assault, assault, vandalism, and breach of bail charges. At least one alleged drug dealer had previously lived in the home, according to arrest and indictment reports. According to scanner chatter, the homeowner and another person living at the residence have called police intermittently to have a woman physically removed from the home, due to alleged assaults.
