On Senior Night, Concord High School Wrestlers Cruise To A Win Against Nashua South, 68-9
11 graduating seniors were feted on Wednesday night. Crimson Tide's junior varsity wrestlers also earn 6 wins against the Purple Panthers.
CONCORD, NH — There were joyous and tearful moments on Wednesday night’s second-to-the-last home meet for the Crimson Tide wrestling team.
Ten wrestlers and the team manager, all seniors, were acknowledged at the match against the Nashua South Purple Panthers. And the Crimson Tide team did not disappoint, notching a solid 68-9 win against Nashua.
The meet started out with Concord’s Biswas Darji, in the 106-pound category, pinning Elijah Phillips. Carter Buxton of Concord in the 113 won by forfeit. Aarush Dutta of Nashua then pinned Khai Jawitz in the 120. Concord then racked up five straight wins: Dominic Schinella pinned Robert Signor in the 126, in the 138, Nicholas Roberts earned a tech fall against Amber Wong, 20-5, Carter pinned Christopher Angellis in the 144, and Daniel Sheehan, in the 150, won by forfeit. Benny Byrne of Nashua, in the 157, beat Leonardo Chung, 6-2. Ryley Holt in the 165 and Maximus Chung in the 175 both won by forfeit for Concord. Jakob Manseau of Concord pinned Jacob Tripp in the 190. Concord’s Isaiah Puckett then won a 7-0 decision against Ian McCubrey in the 215. Wayne Guiterrez Sakakeeny of Concord in the 285 then won by forfeit.

The Tide’s junior varsity squad also racked up six wins against its opponents and Madison Beauregard had an exhibition match under the lights.

Seniors Beauregard, Camden Carbone, Carter, Chung, Holt, Gregg, Puckett, Devin Rivera, Guiterrez Sakakeeny, and Schinella, as well as Manager Chloe O’Connor, all thanked their families and posed for pictures.

Concord faces off against Exeter, Spaulding, and Winnacunnet on Saturday, and against Division I rival Timberlane Regional High School for the last home meet on Feb. 11.
