Crash On I-89
Troop D troopers were sent to a crash on Interstate 89 north on July 21 in Lebanon.
Around 1 p.m., a 2017 Ford Escape had rear-ended a 2010 Ford F150 near Exit 18. State police said, at the time of the crash, a strong storm cell was moving through the area, causing a significant downpour of rain. The storm reduced visibility and the roads were hazardous, according to a report.
The pickup truck driver was not injured, but the driver of the Escape was unresponsive and taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Impairment was not believed to be a factor in the crash. The left northbound lane was closed for about two hours during the investigation and cleanup.
State troopers were assisted by Lebanon police, Lebanon fire and rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
